Monica M. Davey is a photojournalist whose lens has captured the major news and sporting events in Northern California over the past 30 years. She uses light and action to create images that uniquely communicate the emotions of her subjects and their stories. Her long experience with Bay Area teams and organizations gives her the advantage of knowing when and where to be for the best images.

“I love people and am fascinated by how expressive they are and how they move and interact within their circumstance. There aren’t many women wire service photojournalists, and I find working in these highly charged environments extremely rewarding.”

Monica has freelanced with most of the major United States and International wire services—AFP, AP, EFE, EPA, Getty Images, JiJi and Reuters—as well as Panini sports trading cards. She was a staff photographer at City College of San Francisco and the San Mateo Times. Monica is an alumnus of The Eddie Adams Workshop and San Francisco State University, where she received a degree in journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism.
